At Queen Elizabeth's funeral, the royal ladies wore pieces of jewelry that paid tribute to the late queen. Kate wore a piece of jewelry that paid tribute to both the Queen and Princess Diana at the same time, while Meghan wore earrings that were given to her by Elizabeth.
Kate Middleton appeared at the funeral together with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, wearing an elegant black dress with a hat and veil.
To pay tribute to the Queen, Kate decided to complete the look with a pearl choker that belonged to her husband's grandmother. Many say that Kate was a symbol of strength and poise during the funeral entrance.
This is not the first time Kate has chosen to wear Queen Elizabeth's pearl necklace. She wore the same piece of jewelry in 2017, at the dinner celebrating Elizabeth and Philip's 70th wedding anniversary.
The necklace is made of pearls that were gifted to the Queen by the Japanese government and was made in 1980.
Apart from Kate, this piece of jewelry was also worn by Princess Diana, during the visit of the royal family to the Netherlands in 1982.
The youngest princess, Charlotte, seven, paid tribute to her great-grandmother by wearing a horseshoe brooch on her dress. It is known that the Queen was a big fan of horses and even in the 90s she often rode a horse at the palace in Windsor.
The Queen's companion, Camilla, however, arrived at Westminster together with Kate and her husband's grandchildren, wearing a brooch, which the Queen wore during the Diamond Jubilee and in which the number 60 is inserted - the number of years of the reign of Elizabeth until 2012 when she was given the jewelry.
With this, Camilla honored her mother-in-law as the longest-reigning monarch in the British monarchy. As a reminder, this year Elizabeth celebrated 70 years on the throne of the British kingdom.Meghan Markle, on the other hand, came to the funeral together with her husband Harry, who joined the funeral procession, right behind the Queen's coffin.
She paid tribute to Elizabeth by wearing pearl and diamond earrings that her husband's grandmother had given her as a gift.
